Council Sunday January 23, 2022
The Council of Catholic Women of St. Joseph - known affectionately as CCW - asks for your prayers this weekend, as we celebrate the recognition of the contributions of CCW to our parish and wider community. Our parish CCW affiliation is one of 33 CCW affiliations throughout the Diocese of Orlando.
Bishop Noonan issued a letter to the parish affiliations in which he declared “Grace and Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you on this Council of Catholic Women Sunday, January 23, 2022. When I hear the words of Psalm 19 exclaimed, “Your word, Lord, are Spirit and life,” I can only think that they are befitting of you, the partakers of His Word through the Council of Catholic Women. You bring God’s Word to life by your gift of ministry to his holy people. . . . Your humility in service is a gift to our diocese as you gently lead God’s people to know His love. I am forever grateful for your presence during Catholic Days at the Capitol; for your devotion to life from conception through natural death; for your prayerful living all your days.”
Our parish CCW is an affiliation of the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW), which was founded in 1920 under the auspices of the U.S. Catholic bishops who had witnessed the important work done by Catholic women’s organizations during World War I. “The NCCW acts through its members to support, empower, and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service. NCCW programs respond with Gospel values to the needs of the Church and society in the modern world.”
Please check the bulletin or our website (stmaxkolbeccw.weebly.com) for more information about our parish CCW and how to connect with them.
May Our Lady of Good Counsel, patroness of the National Council of Catholic Women, guide and protect our CCW members.
